Charminar:

Charminar is the most popular and a major heritage monument located in the heart of Hyderabad. Built-in 1591, Charminar is the global landmark of Hyderabad. It houses a mosque on its top floor which is almost 400 years old. As the name suggests, it has four minarets which are approximately 184 feet in height.

The credit of building this magnificent monument goes to Mohammad Quli Qutub Shah. The structure is made up of granite, limestone, mortar and pulverized marble. It is surrounded by the popular mosque ‘Mecca Masjid’ and ‘Laad Bazaar’. It invites lakhs of tourists each year and is one of the busiest areas of Hyderabad.

Chowmahalla Palace:

Popular as the official residence of the Nizams during their reign, Chowmahalla Palaces in Hyderabad was built in 1750 by Nizam Salabat Jung. The palace has an elegant build with its entire atmosphere breathing in splendor and grandeur. The palace has two courtyards along with the khilwat, fountains, and gardens.

It represents a mixture of several architectural styles. The palace was opened for public in 2005 after the restoration under the patronage of Princess Esra. The spectacular chandeliers, council hall, vintage cars like Rolls Royce, art crafts and ceramics, clock tower and the exhibitories at the courtyards are not to be missed.

Entry fee: 80 INR for Indians and 200 INR for tourists.

Golconda fort:

Golconda fort was constructed during the 17th century. This magnificent citadel belongs to the era of the Qutub Shahi Rule.  It rose to fame as it became the origin of several precious diamonds including the Kohinoor.  It is still in the best of its shape and is a major tourist attraction. Hence, If you’re looking for a family getaway this weekend, the Golconda Fort is a perfect choice.

Entry fee: 5 INR for Indians and 100 INR for tourists.

Spanish Mosque:

Located at Begumpet, the Spanish mosque is also called Masjid Iqbal Ud Daula. It is popular as the Spanish mosque due to its unique Spanish architecture. The mosque came into existence in 1900 and the construction is said to be completed in 1902. The other name for this mosque is ‘Mosque of Moors’ due to its Moorish-Spanish architecture. The mosque has a church-like appearance and is one of its kind in the country.

Paigah Tombs:

The paigah tombs as its name suggests has the tombs of the members of the Paigah family. The Paigah family is among the most influential families of Hyderabad. They elegantly depict the Indo-Islamic architecture. The tombs are one of the most popular Palaces in Hyderabad.

Qutub Shahi Tombs:

The Qutub Shahi tombs houses tombs of all the seven rulers of the Qutub Shahi Dynasty.  The area has an atmosphere of calmness and love which will be a retreat for history and nature lovers. The tombs exhibit a perfect blend of Hindu, Persian and Pathan style of architecture.Palaces in Hyderabad

Falaknuma Palace:

Falaknuma Palaces in Hyderabad is one of the most beautiful palaces in Hyderabad. It was built by Nawab Sir Viqar Ul Umra, the then prime minister of Hyderabad. It is now owned by the Nizam family. The palace was open to the public in 2000 and is currently renovated into a hotel. Therefore, the palace depicts a perfect mixture of Italian and Tudor architectural styles.

Entry fee: 3100 INR for adults and 2480 INR for children.

Warangal Fort:

The Warangal fort was built by the kakatiya dynasty. The fort has densely carved thoranan arches and pillars. The fort has an exceptionally well-defined architecture with elephant-shaped pillars at the gateway of the fort.

Entry fee: 15 INR for Indians and 200 INR for tourists.

Taramati Baradari:

Taramati Baradari is an example of exceptionally well-built pavilions during the Qutub Shahi rule. Located at Ibrahim Bagh, It was constructed by Abdullah Qutub Shah to honor his courtesan Taramati. In addition to that, It has 12 doors and has been thrown open to the public since its built.
