Bapatla Andhra Pradesh

Bapatla is a town and a muncipality in Guntur district in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. As per 2011 India census, The town had a population of 78,000. 51% of the population are males and 49% are females.

Bapatla has a 53% literacy rate, male literacy is 55%, and female literacy is 45%. Also, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.
The locality, formerly known as Bhavapuri, Bhava Patnum, is a well know town of Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. It is located 35 miles (50 km) south of Guntur City on the East Coast, this town is also known as Bhavapuri because of Bhavanarayana Swamy.

The Locality is on National High Way 214, Frequent bus services available from nearest towns called Chirala, Ponnur, Repalle and Tenali. The Area is in Vijayawada-Chennai Railway Line, many Express trains stop here.

Bapatla is Famous for:

Suryalanka Beach: Suryalanka beach is the nearest beach to Hyderabad. About 9km from Bapatla, Guntur district, and this place overlooking the crystal blue waters of Bay of Bengal is a must for people who are looking to enjoy their weekend at a beach.

Engineering College: The BEC sponsored by Education Society of Bapatla. The Engineering College was established in the year 1981 and it is affiliated to ANU (Acharya Nagarjuna University).

Historical Town: The historical town is in the cusp of another milestone as it is gearing up to celebrate the centenary of the First Andhra Conference held in 1913. It was in this conference that the demand to create a separate province.

Politics:
The Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency was first elected in 1977. Venkayya Naidu, a current deputy from the same constituency, contested from the BJP in 1989 and lost to Congress candidate Benjamin. The late Chief Minister Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy also won in 1998 as an MP. Cinema giant Ramanaidu contested from here for a second time and won one time. Former Union ministers Panabha ka Lakshmi  Tagbubati Purandeshwari who won the seat as an MP.
