GHMC (Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation) has set up a separate Disabled Welfare Cell named VIKASAM (Vikalangula Kaarya Sankalpam) for extending necessary services to the disabled people.
VIKASAM Objectives:
Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation, Urban Community Development issue identity cards to the disabled persons so that Government and Non-Government organizations may be accessed for redressal of demands.
To promote development programs like self employment, assistive devices, mobility aids, skill trainings, education, medical and health care programs.
Identity Card:
To get a VIKASAM ID card applicant can download the registration form from the GHMC’s official website or from the Circle Offices. After filling the form, send it with 2 photos showing your disability, along with disability certificate, address proof and contact details to the Circle offices or the GHMC Office. An applicant would receive the VIKASAM Identity card after submitting the registration form.
