Hyderabad: GHMC Commissioner Dr. B. Janardhan Reddy called on South Central Railway (SCR) General Manager Ravindra Gupta at Rail Nilayam in Secunderabad on Tuesday urging him to clear the Property Tax Dues from Railways of nearly Rs. 26 crore.
The GHMC Commissioner said that the Property Tax from railways was one of the main revenue sources for the corporation. He said early clearance of dues would help the GHMC in providing basic civic amenities like drinking water, sanitation, etc., to the citizens.
Ravindra Gupta assured the GHMC Commissioner that he would be sending a team of senior officials from the Railways for payment of Property Tax on priority.
North Zone Commissioner Hari Chandana, Additional Commissioner Revenue Shankaraiah, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Raj and senior officials from both the departments have participated in the meeting. (INN)
